Grandson To Go was founded by Austin Thompson after he recognized a growing need while helping care for his own grandmother.
What began as supporting family quickly grew into a service built around compassion, trust, and genuine care for seniors in the community. Those early experiences shaped the heart of Grandson To Go and continue to guide the way we show up for every client.
Based in Calgary, Austin comes from a family that has called the city home for three generations. As a family based company, Grandson To Go is rooted in strong values, meaningful connections, and a deep respect for the people it serves.
We believe seniors deserve support that feels personal, patient, and reliable, not rushed or impersonal.
Grandson To Go provides help with everyday tasks, home maintenance, light repairs, outdoor work, seasonal assistance, and technology support. More than anything, we aim to offer peace of mind. Austin started Grandson To Go after recognizing how many seniors struggle to get help with everyday tasks and don’t always have family nearby. He leads the business with a strong focus on reliability, respect, and compassionate support, ensuring clients feel comfortable, supported, and well cared for. Austin takes pride in being dependable, approachable, and present for every client he works with.
Jeff Thompsom
Senior Trades Specialist & Project Support
Jeff is a journeyman electrician and experienced general contractor with decades of hands-on experience. He supports the Grandson To Go team with technical expertise and guidance, helping ensure jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and with attention to detail. Jeff has also spent years caring for his own grandmother, grandfather, and mother, bringing a deep understanding of the respect, patience, and reliability seniors deserve.
Shay Cunningham
Marketing & Communications Coordinator
Shay supports Grandson To Go through operations, marketing, and communications. She helps shape the brand, manage behind-the-scenes systems, and ensure messaging is clear, welcoming, and accessible for seniors and their families. With a strong focus on organization, transparency, and community connection, she helps keep the business running smoothly while staying true to its compassionate values.
